Like the updated Continental, the Interceptor also gets an LED headlight and new switchgear as standard, as well as alloy wheels on certain colour options.
Following its sibling, the Continental GT 650, the evergreen Interceptor 650 has also been updated for 2023, getting an LED headlight, new switchgear and the long-awaited alloy wheels. Prices start at Rs 3.03 lakh and go up to Rs 3.31 lakh (ex-showroom, India), which marks a Rs 16,000 increase over the earlier pricing.
- Alloy wheels on 2 of the 7 colours
- All colour options get new LED headlight
- New aluminium switch cubes from Super Meteor 650
The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 has been able to maintain its popularity over the years despite the lack of any major updates. But not wanting to push its luck, Royal Enfield has updated the evergreen retro for 2023, bringing it up to date.
2023 Royal Enfield Interceptor 650: what’s new?
Like the newly updated Continental GT, the Interceptor borrows the LED headlight from the Super Meteor to replace its halogen reflector unit. Also taken from the Super Meteor are the new aluminium switch cubes which feature a neat retro design and feel rather premium.
The biggest change, though, is the long awaited introduction of alloy wheels. These are available on two of the seven colour options (Barcelona Blue and Black Ray), and cannot be equipped on any of the other colours, even via the MiY configurator. While the updated Continental wraps its alloys in new Vredestein Centuro ST tyres, the Interceptor continues with Ceat tyres. The final new feature is the addition of a USB charging port on the left handlebar.
