Rajiv Sethu battled his way up from 16th on the grid to finish in 11th place in Race 2.
The Idemitsu Honda Racing India team scored valuable points in what was a challenging race in the Thai round of the 2022 Asia Road Racing Championship (AARC). Both races combined, the team was able to manage a total of 11 points.
Rajiv Sethu and Senthil Kumar both dropped back in the initial stages of the races but were able to move their way up and ultimately score valuable championship points.
Race 1
The chaos that ensued in the opening lap saw Sethu drop down to 17th place after starting in 14th position. Making the most of the cards dealt to him, Sethu finally crossed the chequered flag in 14th place, scoring 2 championship points.
Kumar finished the race just behind Sethu in 15th place, rounding off the final point scoring place.
A challenging Race 1 saw the only Indian team on the grid gain 3 valuable points in the championship.
Race 2
After dropping two places down to 16th in the opening lap, Sethu was able to claw back place after place to eventually finish the 8-lap race in 11th place, earning 5 points.
Kumar shared a similar fate, dropping down to 18th place after starting from 16th on the grid. Replicating his teammate’s resurgence through the grid, he made up 5 places, to ultimately cross the line in 13th place, scoring 3 points.
Tallying up their points from both races, the Idemitsu Honda Racing Team India was able to score 11 points in this round.
