Yamaha’s entry-level FZ models, the FZ-FI and FZS-FI, have received minor updates for 2021. The naked motorcycles now get a side-stand engine cut-off function, which is a useful safety feature.
The company has also said that the kerb weight of the motorcycles has gone down from 137kg to 135kg, but hasn’t revealed how this was achieved. For 2021, Bluetooth connectivity has become part of standard equipment for the FZS. The FZS also has new 3D emblems and is available in a new colour – matte red.
Everything else remains the same, including the 149cc, single-cylinder engine that makes 12.4hp at 7,250rpm and 13.6Nm of torque at 5,500rpm. These updated models cost around Rs 4,000-6,000 more than the models they replace.
