Depending on the trim-level, waiting period of the Tata Punch varies from two to nine months.
The Tata Punch is the latest offering from the Indian carmaker, launched at Rs 5.49 lakh, (ex-showroom, Delhi). Since its launch in October, the Punch has garnered quite a bit of interest, with our dealer sources telling us that select variants have a waiting period of over nine months.

Tata Punch: which variants are performing well?
According to our sources, it is actually the base Pure variant that has been the best performing trim for the Punch so far, with a waiting period of over nine months in some cities. However, the second lowest trim, Adventure, has also been receiving strong demand, with its waiting period being as high as five months. The rest of the range has an average waiting period of two to three months, depending on colour and location.
Tata Punch: features on offer
Here is a brief overview of what features each of the Punch trim levels have to offer. The base Pure trim gets dual airbags, ABS, ISOFIX child seat anchors, front power windows, central locking and engine start/stop tech.
Next up is the Adventure trim that adds equipment like an audio system with four speakers, steering mounted controls, electric adjust ORVMs, all four power windows and full wheel covers.
The Accomplished trim comes kitted with a 7.0-inch touchscreen, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a rear-view camera, keyless go, cruise control and 15-inch stylised steel wheels.
Finally, the top-spec Creative trim adds a 7.0-inch semi-digital instrument cluster, automatic projector headlamps, LED daytime running lamps, automatic climate control, rain-sensing wipers and 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.
It’s worth mentioning that all variants are also available with option packs that add features and cost between Rs 30,000-45,000.
Tata Punch: engine and gearbox details
Powering the Tata Punch is an 86hp, 113Nm, 1.2-litre, three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that can be had with either a 5-speed manual or an AMT automatic gearbox. Its ARAI-claimed fuel economy figure is 18.97kpl for the manual and 18.82kpl for the automatic variants.
Tata Punch: competition
The Tata Punch faces off against high-riding hatchbacks like the Maruti Suzuki Ignis, with higher variants also competing with the Nissan Magnite and the Renault Kiger compact SUVs.
