The next-gen Hyundai Tucson N Line has been previewed in official sketches released by the Korean automaker. The renders provide a glimpse at the upcoming, sportier version of the 2021 Hyundai Tucson SUV that saw its premiere in September earlier this year.
- New Tucson N Line to get sharper styling compared to standard model
- Hyundai to offer unique equipment with the sporty SUV
- Tucson N Line to be available in the American market next year
New Hyundai Tucson N Line design details
The preview images reveal that the new Tucson N Line builds on the ‘Sensuous Sportiness’ design language of the standard fourth-gen SUV, with edgier styling cues imparting a sporty character. It gets a more aggressive front bumper profile and sharply-cut housings for the main headlamp setup. Lower down, the central air dam seems more prominent as well, owing to a revised mesh pattern and a thicker lip.
The N Line Tucson further gets blacked-out treatment for the roof, window surround, A-B-C pillars and wing mirrors, in addition to N Line badging on the front fenders. The intricately designed, dual-tone alloy wheels are also unique to the sporty SUV.
At the back, the N Line variant is marked out by a sharply-cut bumper and a more prominent diffuser element, along with twin, oval-shaped exhaust tips.
Though Hyundai hasn’t offered a peek at the interiors, expect the cabin to follow the company’s N Line ethos and feature sporty accents such as a dark colour scheme with contrast stitching, N Line badging, metal pedals and sporty front seats. Hyundai says that the Tucson N Line will offer “differentiating interior details”, and that “unique equipment and colour selections are also planned for production models”.
Expect more details to be revealed when the Tucson N Line is fully unveiled in the coming weeks.
New Hyundai Tucson N Line mechanical details
Hyundai hasn’t released any technical information regarding its upcoming N Line SUV yet. For reference, the standard model comes with a variety of powertrain options, ranging from 1.6-litre turbo-petrol and diesel engines to a 2.5-litre petrol and a 2.0-litre oil burner. Hybrids also feature significantly across the line-up.
To put things in perspective, the previous-gen Tucson N Line that debuted last year got a stiffer chassis and suspension setup to complement the sporty styling, though the powertrain was shared with the standard model.
New Hyundai Tucson N Line launch and India outlook
Hyundai has announced that the next-gen Tucson N Line will be available in the US in “spring 2021” (second quarter of 2021), though the company is yet to reveal a timeline for rollout in other global markets.
The sporty Tucson, however, is not on the cards for an India launch anytime soon. The automaker recently introduced the facelifted version of the standard third-gen Tucson in our market. So it will be a while before the fourth-gen model, and possibly its sporty derivative, make an India debut.
